Pureworker Terms of Service

Last updated: 14 July 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a legally binding agreement between Pureworker Ltd (RC 7298244) ("Pureworker", "we", "us", "our") and you, whether you use our website, our mobile applications, or our WhatsApp service (together, the "Services"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. What Pureworker Is (and Is Not)

Pureworker is a marketplace that introduces customers to independent, verified service providers (artisans and skilled professionals) in Nigeria. We help you find and connect with a provider, and where you ask us to, we pass your job to our providers and connect you with one who accepts.

We are only a facilitator. The actual service is a contract directly between the customer and the provider. Pureworker is not a party to that contract, is not the employer, agent, or partner of any provider, and does not supervise, direct, or control how a provider performs a job. Providers are independent and are not our staff.

We do not handle payments. Customers pay providers directly. Pureworker never holds, processes, or guarantees your money. As a safety rule, never pay large amounts before work begins.

2. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Services. You agree to give accurate, current, and complete information, to keep it up to date, and to keep your account credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity on your account and must tell us promptly of any unauthorised use.

3. Provider Verification (What It Means and Does Not)

We verify providers before listing them, which may include identity checks (for example, NIN verification through a licensed agent), a photograph, samples of past work, and references. This reduces risk but is not a guarantee of a provider's skill, conduct, availability, or the quality or outcome of any job. You are responsible for satisfying yourself that a provider is right for your job before engaging them.

4. How Connections Work

Directory: when you request a service, we may share the contact details of suitable verified providers so you can reach out to them directly.

Dispatch (only with your permission): if you ask us to reach providers on your behalf, you consent to us sharing your name, phone number, and general area (not your exact address) with the provider who accepts the job, so they can contact you. We share these details only with the accepting provider, and only after you give this permission. You can cancel a request at any time before the job is completed by telling us in the chat.

We connect people in good faith based on the information available; we do not promise that a provider will accept, attend, or complete any job.

5. Reviews Are the Record of a Job

After a job, both the customer and the provider are asked to confirm whether it was completed and to leave a rating. A completed mutual review is the recognised record of the transaction on Pureworker. If you have a complaint or dispute about a job, you must raise it in the review, within the review window we provide. Matters not raised in the review, or raised after the window closes, fall outside our dispute handling.

Reviews must be honest and based on a real interaction. We may remove reviews that are fake, abusive, or manipulative, and we may act on repeated no-shows or timewasting by either side.

6. Customer Responsibilities

As a customer you agree to: give accurate job details; treat providers respectfully; be available as arranged; agree scope and price directly with the provider; not pay large sums before work begins; and leave honest reviews. You engage providers at your own discretion and are responsible for your own safety and property when a provider attends.

7. Service Provider Terms

If you offer services through Pureworker, the following apply to you in addition to the rest of these Terms:

  • Independent contractor. You provide services on your own account. You are not an employee, agent, or partner of Pureworker, and nothing here creates an employment, partnership, or joint-venture relationship. You control how, when, and whether you carry out a job.
  • No guarantee of work or income. Pureworker does not promise you any minimum number of jobs, leads, or earnings, and may change how jobs are routed at any time.
  • Your own obligations. You are solely responsible for your taxes, any licences, certifications, permits, tools, and insurance your trade requires, and for working lawfully and safely.
  • Accepting a job is a commitment. When you accept a job, you agree to contact the customer promptly and to attend and perform it as agreed. Accepting and then failing to show up or respond ("ghosting") may reduce your ranking or lead to removal.
  • Quality and conduct. Provide services to a reasonable professional standard, treat customers respectfully, and agree scope and price with the customer directly. You are responsible for the work you do and any damage or loss you cause.
  • Confidentiality. Use a customer's name, contact details, and address only for the job you were connected for; do not reuse, share, or sell them.
  • No circumvention. Do not use Pureworker to find customers and then move them off-platform to avoid our verification, review, or safety processes.
  • Verification is ongoing. We may re-check your details, and may suspend or delist you for repeated no-shows, unresolved complaints, low ratings, or unsafe or unlawful conduct.

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • break any law, or use the Services for fraud or harm;
  • impersonate anyone, or give false identity, verification, or review information;
  • harass, threaten, or discriminate against another user;
  • take a customer or provider off-platform to avoid our safety, review, or verification processes;
  • misuse another person's contact details, or send spam;
  • interfere with, scrape, or attempt to break the Services.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties about the Services or about any provider or customer, including as to skill, quality, safety, timeliness, or the outcome of any job. Any such warranties are disclaimed.

10. Limitation of Liability

Because Pureworker only introduces people and is not a party to the job, we are not liable for the acts, omissions, conduct, or work of any customer or provider, or for any loss, injury, damage, or dispute arising from a job or from dealings between users. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Services is limited to the greater of the fees you paid to Pureworker (if any) in the 3 months before the claim, or ₦20,000. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss.

11. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Pureworker harmless from claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Services, your breach of these Terms, or your dealings with another user.

12. Intellectual Property

The Pureworker name, logo, software, and content are owned by Pureworker or its licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Services for their intended purpose. You may not copy, resell, or create derivative works from the Services without our written permission.

13. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or end your access to the Services at any time if you breach these Terms, create risk for other users, or where required by law. You may stop using the Services at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive (including 1, 5, 9, 10, 11, and 14) continue after termination.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes about a job between a customer and a provider must first be raised through the review process (Section 5). Any dispute with Pureworker that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the courts of Nigeria. Nothing here removes any right you have that cannot be waived under Nigerian law.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the current version, and material changes will be highlighted or communicated through the Services. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
